What we put in our thoughts  (or on our walls!)is as important as what we put in our mouths? or as what we look at. What does red taste like? blue sound like? yellow smell like? As artists we look for how to define light and shadow, texture, and composition, even as a gourmet cook sniffs for the right sprinkle of spice.

Sailing on our clipper ship, Star Flyer in France and Italy, I found the views from our deck full of deep blue moments on the Mediterranean.  My palette knife was happy to sculpt citadel walls, city allies, and poppies. 

It was fun to have 18 families add my art to their collections.  The commissions are still on their way to completion.  You can order your own "moment" by commissioning one like these, if it is already sold, or sending me your own travel photo for a living breathing impressionistic oil painting. Daube Icy Sunrise to Pacific Ocean Sunrise Springtime

You can spring back and forth with my paintings of winter in Germany or springtime in California.  What fun to brave the snow or wade the creek.  Crossing Cold Creek was a hike with rocks for us to hop on.

Or why not jump the waves at Malibu State Park.  I like adventures in all kinds of places.  That is why I tell  people, "Change the paintings on your wall now and then for new experiences."  My palette knife picks up the light at different times of the day in mystical ways.  The Danube river was an icy sunrise frommy boat cabin window. The Cold Creek Crossing is on a warm spring day.  The Malibu Sunrise from a south facing Pacific Beach is from high up on the cliffs.

            Malibu State Park has its own fresh washed hills from the recent rains. The little creeks are full of lovely springtime reflections   We can hike there together where my palette knife found this "Malibu Creek."
